Join us in the WET:LAND space at Art Club for a screening of the new WET:LAND short film followed by music by pithe, Hustle Cry, and Hollaway.

WET:LAND, a film by Skyler Smith, documents Houston's wetlands by way of original landscape footage and archival film. It is a meditation on the soggy, storied ground beneath this city, tracing the slow negotiation between land and water, past and future, human and non-human. Drawing from myth, ritual, and the quiet poetry of wet places, the film grounds in the question of what it means to live on terrain that has been dispossessed of its memory.

After the Screening, the room stays open for a wetland ritual centered on music and communion with wetlands. An evening for the ecologically minded, the culturally curious, or anyone who has stood at the edge of a bayou and felt something they could not quite name. Come for the film and stay for whatever comes after!
