Sacred Heart | A Mexican Folk Art Experience

The workshop begins with a brief introduction to cartonería, its history, and its connection to Mexican popular art and celebrations, followed by a live demonstration. Participants will work with engrudo (flour-based glue paste) and strips of brown paper, applying them to an unfinished Sacred Heart structure to experience the basic process of cartonería. Each participant will receive a separate dry, primed and ready to paint Sacred Heart which will be yours to take home. No previous experience is required.

• Hands-on experience with engrudo and brown paper.  
• Introduction to Mexican cartonería.  
• Live demonstration and guided instruction.  
• Dry, primed Sacred Heart ready to paint.  
• Painting and decorating materials.
• Plastic aprons 
• Finished Sacred Heart to take home

What to wear: Aprons will be provided, but we encourage you to prepare to get a little messy.
