Since 2013, Batu has carved out a unique sound in the dance music scene, mixing techno and bass-heavy club with other leftfield, futuristic sounds, that's established him as one of the UK's modern tastemakers.

Subsequent 12ʺs on labels including XL Recordings, Hessle Audio and his own Timedance imprint have found him grounded in British bassbin principles, but his style is relentlessly forward thinking—and he's pushing his sound in adventurous, inventive ways that have become a signature aesthetic.

Batu and his tight-knit Timedance label (which has been heralded as a "stronghold of dance music innovation" by Mixmag) continue to push the boundaries, putting Bristol firmly at the center of global bass-minded music culture and established Timedance as one of the most vital proponents of fresh UK dance music.

His DJing is also respected worldwide, earning him the title of one of the Top 25 DJs who defined 2025.  Recent times have seen him tour Asia, America and play a series of the best festivals in Europe, including Field Day, Freerotation, Dimensions, Unsound, Dekmantel Selectors and many more.
